about

We feel so inspired by the change that is happening in support of #blacklivesmatter and the need to do better within our culture and society. We can all help make the world a better place starting with ourselves and our own journeys. LOVE WINS, we are all one. Let's all strive to seek progress, peace and understanding and RESPECT one another! YES WE CAN.

I specifically wanted to dedicate this newest album to black culture as a whole and to individuals in the community that have helped shape this new music into what it is today. These people are one of the biggest reasons I learned the organ, piano, keys, drums and hang out in the world of soul, funk/groove music... They have accepted me into their culture time after time. This whole subculture of music has changed my life and has provided so many good times and friendships along the way. I always have a friend when music is around and that level of beauty needs to be celebrated, recognized and appreciated. Thank you!!!

SHIMMER. Shine bright and be a positive light for change on your own journey through life!

This album was shaped over the time and experiences living in NYC 2018-2020. I am grateful for my friend Cody Nilsen from Boston who introduced me to Greg King, an amazing guitarist who made NYC more enjoyable in so many ways. This friendship later morphed into playing with Greg's friend Matt Russo on guitar. We hit it off and shared the same love for funk/R&B and music with real SOUL. After some time, Greg packed up and moved to Colorado to pursue a new life in Denver, and I found myself playing music with Matt and Danny McGonegle on drums. After a ton of what seemed to be bad timing and missed connections, I decided I would spend the majority of my time working on new music by myself and put in the work needed to get a new album out there. Fast forward a year and I was hitting up Matt to tell him I booked the studio time and in true New York fashion, we made the impossible happen by coordinating different schedules, rehearsals, voice memos, and unspoken trust to just go with it and know that the train keeps moving no matter. We knew we wanted to make this happen someway, somehow. During this time I was messing around with the Fender Rhodes piano instead of organ since the organ was becoming too heavy and too cumbersome to have in New York City. This is typically the kind of instrument that stays put in one spot. The rhodes had such an impact on me during this time, it kind of became the focus of music creation and the song ideas fit so well utilizing the rhodes. I finally hit Matt with an already booked studio session at Iron Wax Studios in western Massachusetts. We made it work, I went up to the studio for 2 days and threw down my rhodes, bass keys, drums. I picked up Matt at the train station in the middle of nowhere around midnight on the second night, and the next morning we were in the studio making music happen for the last and final day in the studio. We were working against the clock yet it all felt to be flowing so freely. We are so grateful to have recorded this with the help of Alan Evans at Iron Wax, Alan's positivity and can-do attitude has been a beacon of light that encourages us to strive for our best not only in the studio, but in our day to day lives once we leave the recording session. Thank you Al! I am grateful and blessed to know you!

This album is 100% self funded, no label, no agenda, just pure passion to create organic music that would be nice if it was heard.

It is amazing that we are able to share this passion for music, our influences and have our own voice in the process. I hope this album can be a place of love, positivity and put a smile on your face going forward.
